Nepean Homeowner Shares 5-Star Experience with Interlock Metal Roofing | A Premium Aluminum Roof That Elevated Value and Curb Appeal

March 23, 2025

The aluminum roof is definitely a premium product! It added to the value and the looks of the house. Derek, the salesman we worked with, provided all relevant information and he was extremely patient with us, as we had a million questions for him. Additionally, Jean-Francois and Matthieu did an excellent job with the installation as well as keeping things neat and tidy at the end of each day. The final look and performance of the product surpassed our expectations! Thank you Interlock. Why We Chose Maritime Permanent Roofing for Our Aluminum Shingle Roof: A 5,000 sq. ft. Upgrade Built to Last and Ready for Solar

March 20, 2025

We hired Maritime Permanent Roofing (an Interlock Roofing company) to install a new metal roof. A lot of metal roofs that get installed are steel "barn-board" roofs that are screwed down. If you can't see the fasteners, you've installed a better quality roof called "standing seam". So we were trying to decide between standing seam and metal shingles. In the end, we decided we liked the look of shingles better, so we went that route. What differentiates MPR from other roofers is that they use aluminum (which oxidizes with a protective coating, rather than rusting, like steel). Living in a province where you're not too far from the ocean in any direction, this was important to us. So our first contact with the company was with "Greg" who handles the sales. He was quick to give us a quote (for "slate" shingles in a "musket grey", one of 9 colour options). I'm not going to lie to you, it wasn't cheap. We live in a large bungalow, so with a 5000+ sq.ft roof the costs add up quickly. Asphalt shingles would have been less than half the price, but we knew we were installing solar panels, so asphalt was not an option (asphalt shingles just don't last like they used to... they are made more cheaply, using less asphalt and more fiberglass). So we signed the contract and were given a start date of 2 months out. Our next contact was with "Chris" (Greg's brother... yes, it's a family business). He is the operations manager. Both Greg and Chris were laid-back and easy to talk to and generally seemed like nice/good people. I'm always happy when I hire good people. Chris showed up the first week of November to deliver all the materials to site and he informed me that the install crew would arrive on the weekend to start the job. So on Sunday Nov.7th "Janner", the installation foreman, and his crew showed up. They were a crew of 6 men!! As we have a large complicated roof with multiple dormers, many ridges and valleys and multiple facets with several different roof pitches, it wasn't a job for amateurs. Janner and company were very friendly and willing to answer questions openly, and they were very professional. Everyone in the crew had been formally trained by the parent Interlock company (which is based in British Columbia) and they had been installing Interlock Roofing for over 10 years, so they knew what they were doing. Luckily, the weather was good (for the most part) and they finished the job in 4 days. We are quite happy with our new roof, which has now prepared us to install solar panels. Greg, Chris and Janner were all good people and all professionals. I highly recommend MPR if you are considering installing a metal roof. I'm quite sure an aluminum shingle roof will outlast a steel barn-board roof, but I will update this review in a couple/few years to report on how the roof is holding up and whether or not there are any leaks. ps: Interlock Roofing is a Canadian company, who designs and manufactures their own aluminum shingles, they even make their own ringed aluminum nails.

Belleville Metal Roofing Review | A First-Time Homeowner’s Experience with a Lifetime Roof

March 15, 2025

Taking on a new roof as a first time home owner was a challenge, and in the heights of COVID, it felt even scarier. Derek and his team worked with us online, and took images from google (without having to come and measure) and we had our new roof within 1.5 months. We loved the product, that the company doesn’t subcontract, and of course, the warranty! The installation was smooth, and the team put it on in the rain in about two half days work. I have since referred my sister’s family, and they got their roof done! I also received a referral bonus of $500 which we put toward more snow guards after our first winter. It was pricey, but knowing we will never have to replace our roof again is all the peace of mind we need.

Picton Metal Roofing Review: How Interlock Transformed My Home (And Ended My Winter Woes)

March 12, 2025

Easy process from purchase to install. The installers went over and above to be sure my house looked fantastic when they were done. In the past, every winter I would have wind damage to my asphalt shingles even though they were under 6 years old. I haven't had any damage to my new Interlock metal roof even though an F1 + wind storm has rolled through more than once. Couldn't be happier with the roof and how it looks. I highly recommend Interlock Metal Roofing.

Kirkland Metal Roofing Review | A Worthwhile Investment for Long-Term Quality & Curb Appeal

March 8, 2025

Deciding to switch to an aluminum roof was a significant decision for us, and honestly, the selection process was a bit overwhelming. There are so many styles and finishes available, and it took us quite a while to finally make our choice. If you're considering aluminum, be prepared to invest time in understanding your options. The installation process itself also took longer than we initially anticipated, especially compared to the asphalt shingle replacements we've had done in the past. This is something to factor into your timeline if you're working with specific deadlines. However, despite the longer decision and installation periods, we are extremely pleased with the final result. The aluminum roof looks fantastic and has significantly improved the curb appeal of our home. It truly turned out nice. We were also impressed with the attention to detail shown by Interlock Metal Roofing. They used what appeared to be the correct mounting hardware, ensuring a secure and professional installation. Additionally, they didn't hesitate to replace any damaged or weakened boards as needed, which gave us peace of mind regarding the roof's long-term integrity. Overall, while the decision-making and installation processes were more involved than expected, the quality of the finished product and the professionalism of Interlock Metal Roofing made it a worthwhile investment. We would recommend them to others considering an aluminum roof, with the caveat that they should be prepared for a longer timeline.

Calgary Metal Roofing – Durable, Fire-Resistant Protection for Your Home

March 5, 2025

When we decided to have our asphalt shingles replaced back in July of 2015 we decided to pursue a metal roofing design to assist in coping with increased fire, wind and hail concerns. Since the original install we have experienced some hail and wind events and our roof appeared to be in good standing over the past nine years We did experience a slight reduction in our home insurance due to the installation of our metal roof (help offset extra cost of this product) However in August 2024 the City of Calgary experienced a major hail event we required a complete replacement of the roofing system (no holes just dents and damage to shingle finish) We decided to return back to Interlock based on past experience with their knowledgeable sale and installation staff We were happy to see Interlock's commitment to continuous improvement with respect to a better underlayment system (wider, sturdier ridge caps) that improve the look and integrity of our home.

Moro Metal Roofing Review | A High-Quality, Long-Term Roof Built to Last

February 27, 2025

We recently had a new roof installed by "Interlock". Our remotely located, 100 year old house with several additions posed some challenges in the installation. Interlock did a great job and the end result is better than we had hoped. If you are looking for a very high quality long term roof for your home, we highly recommend your give Interlock a call.
